Dr. Monica Kraft is an experienced physician-scientist with a diverse range of experience within healthcare and clinical settings. Dr. Kraft graduated from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine with her MD in 1987, completing her residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident. After completing her Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado, Dr. Kraft joined the faculty at National Jewish Health where she held roles as the Medical Director of the Pulmonary Physiology Unity and Director of the Carl and Hazel Felt Laboratory for Adult Asthma Research.
Over the course of Dr. Monica Kraft’s career, she has served in various directive and administrative roles for Duke University and the University of Arizona. Dr. Kraft is currently a professor and System Chair for the Department of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she draws from her healthcare experience to oversee all research, educational, and clinical programs for the Department of Medicine’s 14 divisions over eight hospitals in the Mount Sinai Health System.
Dr. Kraft has built a reputation within the medical field for her extensive understanding of airway diseases and asthma as well as her profound commitment to providing quality care to patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and complex airway disease. As a leader who believes in contributing to research and collaboration within her field, Dr. Kraft has written and co-authored over 240 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, chapters, and editorials, as well as having received various accolades to recognize her work.
